Video Demonstration

Before you enjoy our resources please feel free to watch this video demonstration to give you a better understanding of how to utilise this website to benefit your learners.

Resources

1.  Video tutorials

You will find below a comprehensive bank of video tutorials at bronze, silver and gold level. This differentiation by skill allows all pupils in your class to access the content of the lesson.

These video links can be copied and shared directly with your students via your preferred platform, e.g. Show my Homework, Google Classroom, etc.

The video lessons are grouped by levels under the organisers;

  • Estimating & rounding  (e.g. rounding to nearest 10, tolerance, etc)
  • Number & number process  (e.g. calculations, negative numbers, etc)
  • Multiples, factors & primes  (e.g. prime numbers, LCM, HCF, etc)
  • Powers & roots  (e.g. squares and square roots, scientific notation, etc)
  • Fractions, decimals & percentages  (e.g. calculating %'s, + fractions, etc)
  • Ratio & proportion  (e.g. direct proportion, sharing a ratio, etc)
  • Money  (e.g. foreign exchange, paying bills, income tax, etc)
  • Time  (time intervals, distance/speed/time calculations, etc)
  • Measurement  (e.g. area, volume, changing units, etc)
  • Patterns & relationships  (e.g. sequences, linear patterns, etc)
  • Expressions & equations  (e.g. solving equations, substitution, etc)
  • Properties of 2D shapes & 3D objects  (e.g. Pythagoras, trigonometry, etc)
  • Angle, symmetry & transformation  (e.g. angle properties, rotational symmetry, coordinates, etc)
  • Data & analysis  (e.g. reading and drawing graphs, averages, etc)
  • Ideas of chance & uncertainty  (e.g. probability, etc)

So if, for example, you are looking for a video on how to calculate the area of a trapezium you would try looking in Measurement. As this is quite an advanced skill you would find this video lesson in 4th Level. You should find a video lesson on practically everything you need across all these levels.

2.  Differentiated Online Textbooks

These online textbook exercises contain bronzesilver and gold practise for each video lesson. They can be downloaded as PDF's and shared with your students via your chosen platform. Answers are included.

3.  Monthly Revision Calendars

These flexible revision calendars can be used as a monthly check-up on a variety of skills. There are 4 different levels to meet the needs of all students. Again, they can be downloaded and shared.

4.  The Daily Rigour

Our popular weekly numeracy newspaper gives students regular opportunities to apply their skills in new and unfamiliar contexts. Although predominantly a Scottish newspaper, we regularly feature news stories from all over the world! New editions are posted every Sunday.
